Danielle Nantkes Elected State Senator!
Posted Nov 9th 2006
Danielle was pleased to have secured an election night victory by a ten point margin. Danielle responded by saying, “I am so proud of our campaign team and so proud that we ran a positive issue based campaign that resonated with the voters of North Lincoln. I am very humbled that so many people have put their trust into my ability and vision to serve them for the next four years.”

Danielle Nantkes Endorsed By the Lincoln Journal Star
Posted Oct 23rd 2006
Danielle Nantkes would bring an aptitude for doing her homework to her responsibilities as senator for District 46 in north Lincoln, where Sen. Dave Landis is being turned out by term limits.
As an attorney for the Nebraska Appleseed Project, Nantkes has helped draft legislation, testified and lobbied state senators.
She paid attention. She has a good working knowledge of how the institution operates. This background will be a real plus because the 2007 session will the first since the state’s new term limits law took effect.
We expect Nantkes to be a strong supporter of disadvantaged Nebraskans, public schools and the University of Nebraska.
We admit to some misgivings about her involvement in helping draft Lincoln’s problematic living wage ordinance. This worry was assuaged somewhat when Nantkes accompanied the representatives from the Lincoln and Omaha chambers of commerce when they visited the state’s congressional delegation in Washington to discuss economic development issues.

Omaha World Herald Endorses Danielle Nantkes for Legislature!

Danielle Nantkes, an impressively well-informed young staff attorney with the Appleseed Center for Law in the Public Interest, would be the better successor in District 46. Revenue Committee Chairman David Landis is being forced to retire from the north Lincoln seat after 28 years. Nantkes…has been a dedicated advocate for Appleseed’s low-income clientele. But she has shown wisdom beyond her years, notably in helping behind the scenes to craft the Nebraska Advantage Act so its business tax incentives might better benefit all Nebraskans.
