  • Introduced & Passed a Scholarship Program for children of First Responders who are killed in the line of duty

Strong & Healthy Families:

  • Introduced and Passed Increased Funding for Every Woman Matters Program that provides breast and cervical cancer screening and treatment
  • Supported expansion of State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) from 185 percent to 200 percent of poverty, maximizing federal dollars and insuring the health and well-being of children in Nebraska
  • Supported legislation to allow family health care coverage to cover young adults up to age 29 as they transition into the work force

Taking Care of Lincoln:

  • Introduced and Secured Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars in Additional Revenue for Lincoln by reforming storm water formula
  • Introduced and Secured Thousands of Dollars in Additional Revenue for Lincoln by reforming cigarette sales tax formula to help finance Antelope Valley Project
  • Committee Leader to Secure $1 million Appropriation for Lincoln for 2010 Special Olympics
